While the restaurant has moved to a new location, diners can expect the same kindness of the Phở Viet’s family, and from a warm bowl of phở
The Back Story From its start in the Super 88 food court in 2006, Phở Viet’s expanded to Newton Center in 2019, later closed the original location, and in 2021 opened their current spot near Boston University. The storefront is run by Thanh Tran, son of the original owners, and his wife, Jenn Tin. Thanh’s sister, Kelly Tran, is managing Phở Viet’s II in Newton Center. Cooks from the original crew at Super 88 are now at the new Comm Ave place.
Bánh mì, beef and chicken plates, and phở—a noodle dish for which the restaurant is named—are among the most popular items on the menu, according to Tran. The grilled lemongrass chicken breast with rice is popular among younger patrons.

Since 2006, our family has worked hard to bring you the best experience in Boston.
The food is DELICIOUS and we are very excited to be trying more things on Pho Viet's menu. Ordered a chicken bahn mi and braised beef pho for pickup and wrote about a shrimp and nut allergy in our party. Got a call around 10 minutes later from Jen checking in about specifics about the allergy (if cross-contamination would be a problem, and even let us know about which specific ingredients were officially allergen-free) and was so kind and helpful. It really made the night of the person with allergies. Thank you, Jen :-)
